Myth: Certain food. Like grapefruit, celery, or cabbage soup, can burn fat and make you lose weight.

Fact: Sorry but no food can burn fat. Some foods with caffeine however may speed up your metabolism for a short time. Caffeine may help reduce cravings and can suppress hunger which may lead to weight loss, but it does not cause weight loss.

Myth: Natural or herbal weight-loss products are safe and effective.

Fact: If a product claims to be “natural” or “herbal” it does not necessarily mean it is safe. These products are not often tested scientifically to prove that they are safe or that they work. Some herbal or natural products may be unsafe when taken with other drugs and can also hurt people with certain medical conditions. Check with your doctor before using these weight loss products.
