A Daily Glass of Red Wine

Health and Wellness

Red Wine, a daily glass is good for the heart, right? ❤️ 🙋‍♀️Studies show, “Antioxidants in red wine called polyphenols may help protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart”. A Polyphenol called resveratrol is one substance in red wine that has gotten much attention over the years.🍷 Resveratrol has been linked to some health benefits such as lowering cholesterol, protecting brain function and lowering blood pressure. Resveratrol is a plant compound that acts like an antioxidant and is found in the skin of grapes and berries. 🍇There are studies that show that in high doses resveratrol may promote cancer blocking activity as well as reduce inflammation with those who have arthritis. Most resveratrol supplements contain 250 to 500 milligrams. However, there is no required amount and there are not enough studies done to know how much we need exactly to see health benefits. What we do know is red wine contains no more than 13 mg of resveratrol per liter. Turns out in order to reach that 250mg daily, you would need to drink almost 20 liters of wine DAILY! I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure at that point you would wipe out all resveratrol benefits. Sorry friends, but there is no health benefits to a daily glass of red wine! 🍷 💔
